John Lennon Catalog Remastered To Mark 70th Birthday Lady Gaga, Iggy Pop, Sonic Youth And More To Join Yoko Ono For John Lennon Tribute Concert In L.A.

Because a fan paying $15,000 dollars for his 40-year-old toilet isn’t enough, Yoko Ono is throwing a two-day, all-star bash for her late husband, John Lennon, this October in Los Angeles.  Set to be held at the Orpheum Theatre on October 1-2, the We Are Plastic Ono Band concerts will feature the pant-suited and blank-eyed stare of Ono’s caterwauling performing Plastic Ono Band tunes backed by a band featuring her son Sean Lennon, as well as numerous high-profile guest performances.

Watch Lady Gaga Performs New Song Living on the Radio Watch: Lady Gaga Performs New Song Living On The Radio

Well, little monsters. Your pop queen of inappropriateness is still making sure all her freaks and outsiders get the love they deserve. Lady Gaga performed another new and unreleased song (the first being “You and I”) titled “Living on the Radio” last night during her St. Paul Minnesota show and it sounds pretty decent.  I say that because there’s an actual touch of honesty to this song and some of us who are fed up with her antics  on stage, in music videos and in interviews can take this as one more chance to hear the pop star out.

Lady Gaga Lollapalooza 2010: Lady Gaga

From the very start of the day on Friday at Lollapalooza, it was nearly impossible to walk through the festival grounds without hearing people emphatically hyping Lady Gaga’s set, and it was even harder to not walk straight into one of the countless Lady Gaga lookalikes that made their way down to pay homage. Of course, the skeptic would wonder how something so overhyped could even live up. Well, leave it to Lady Gaga to find a way.

Well, it’s that time of year again, in which we all flood towards Chicago for all the same bands we saw at Coachella now Rubiks-cubed with a handful of other acts and headliners for three days of music, humidity, and wildly overpriced bottled water and pizza.  It’s time for Lollapalooza 2010.

And while Beatcrave will be offering up a list of the Top 5 bands you must see at this year’s Lolla, I thought I’d slip you a handy primer of the five bands you must avoid at all costs if you’d like to have a pleasant time in Chicago this weekend (and if you have good taste).  From hipster blog golden calves to appallingly plastic pop divas to ’90s rock jokes, these are the bands whose sets you can miss in order to nap, grab a slice of $20 pizza, or take an annoying picture of yourself in crowd with a band onstage behind you for your Facebook profile pic.  Just remember — you’ve been warned.
