Perez Hilton, the somewhat A-list celebrity who makes fun of other real A-list celebrities is having major troubles with this tour he launched. Snatching up artists such as Little Boots and Ladyhawke, the tour was supposed to be phenomenal and show that Hilton could really be part of the music industry.
Obviously, he thought wrong because the tour has barely been able to sell tickets, leading his team to severely slash the prices down to almost nothing. This little team in his head didn’t work and there is another team that flaunts an I-told-you-so sign at him with no regrets.

We’ve been a big of of Ladyhawke for a really long time. (Way before Perez Hilton tried to claim her as a discovery along with Little Boots, La Roux, and Elizabeth and The Catapult.) We were addicted to her electro-pop rock music so much that we inducted her into our BeatCrave Fav series.
Now, we hear that our favorite semi-Kiwi (born in Masterton but now a resident of London) was one of the biggest winners in the history of New Zealand Music Awards. Not only did she win Best Dance Electronica Album, but she also grabbed Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Female Solo Artist, Breakthrough Artist, and International Achievement Award. That’s a whopping 6 awards at one single ceremony.

Ladyhawke hasn’t been lazy when it comes to videos. She’s done one for each of her singles including an extra one with her “friends” for “Back of the Van.”
Now she’s back with another one for “Magic.” Whereas the video for “Paris Is Burning” followed her causing a ruckus in the streets during the night, the new music video features her uber-mystical side as she rides a white horse in the forest and looks into a crystal ball.
Check it out below and let us know what you think!

I love the fact that more and more female musicians are taking over the charts and concert venues! My current happiness in regards to the music industry’s female power would be none other than the lovely Ladyhawke from New Zealand. She looks like a lovely blonde in this photo, but she’s also bad-ass when it comes to recording all the instruments herself on her debut album. She also fronts a full band on tour.
The fact that my love for electro-pop will never die is not a secret. So when it’s electro-pop plus rock, it’s heaven… the kind of heaven where all the angels rock out with synths and guitars. Ladyhawke was formerly in the bands, Two Lane Blacktop and Teenger, and has performed with great acts such as Peaches, Lightspeed Champion, and more. Check her out in our BeatCrave Fav series below! If you think she’s rad as I think she is, make sure to vote for her in Friday’s poll!
