NPR has posted the new live album by living legend, Leonard Cohen for free on their site. “Live in London,” is treasure for all Cohen Fans. Recorded in July of 2008, it was a concert that took place during his first tour in 15 years. The subject of much talk and praise, Cohen is one of the most insightful and revealing songwriters around. His songs have been covered literally hundreds of times by all kinds of musical groups and musicians (i.e. Rufus Wainwright, Nick Cave, Marianne Faithfull, Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley, Madeleine Peyroux, Antony and the Johnsons, and The Pixies, to name.) You all know him in some form or another.

Radiohead have donated the song, “Videotape” to the UK housing and homeless charity Shelter to be used in a nationwide advertisement campaign. Radiohead said they were pleased their music will help to encourage people to donate to the charity which serves the millions whose home have or will be lost due to the present economic situation in the UK.
“We have always been big supporters of Shelter and believe that now more than ever this organiztion urgently needs help and support to keep up its vital work,” the band said in a statement.
“‘Videotape’ is the perfect track to support the ad so we decided to let Shelter use it in their new ad in the hope that it will help make a real impact.”

Legendary singer Leonard Cohen will play his first American show since 1993 on February 19. The show, set to take place on February 19 at the Beacon Theater in New York, has been forced upon Cohen due to his manager losing/stealing $5 million of his money and then refusing to pay a $9 million settlement. Cohen has been touring in Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand since May in his first tour since his 1993 tour, after which he became a Buddhist monk until all his money was stolen (which kind of shows the typical Hollywood approach to Buddhism – preach to other people about their lifestyles as long as you don’t have to worry about money yourself).
