Post-punk music has never been my cup of tea, but on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at The Getty Center in Los Angeles, the genre proved to be highly entertaining. Kicking off this month’s edition of ‘Saturdays off the 405′ was New York’s Les Savy Fav. Frontman Tim Harrington was a wild man in shiny-red-spandex tights — shirtless — onstage that night; I’ll go as far as to say that the show was more about the “show” and less about the tunes.

In a move that will either be incredibly funny or disastrous, Pitchfork TV have given Les Savy Fav frontman Tim Harrington his own TV show. The show, appropriately enough, is titled “Beardo.”
Anyone who has seen Les Savy Fav live knows that Harrington is an unpredictable character who may end up singing a song laying in the middle of the crowd or could put a trash can on his head. At almost all shows you’re guaranteed to see his bare gut, and possibly other parts of his body.

Guster has officially signed on to play 5 acoustic songs at a fundraiser for Barack Obama at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn NY on October 7th. Also on the bill are Les Savy Fav, Andrew Bird, Aline Simone, Martin Bisi, The Fiery Furnaces, and another super secret band they’re refusing to mention. The show will be held Tuesday October 7th in Brooklyn, N. And just to sweeten the deal, they’ve added a number of great comedians to the bill as well (more info below).
