Lil Wayne (a.k.a. Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.) went and had an accident over the weekend—which usually happens when a guy approaching 30 starts skateboarding like a 15 year old, as it turns out that the rapper was injured at a skateboard park on Sunday night.

Lil Wayne recently earned his gangsta rap credentials by completing a prison sentence and since being released he’s been eager to get back to doing what he loves; performing before a crowd of adoring fans. While fellow Young Money comrade Drake was giving a concert in Las Vegas on November 6, Lil Wayne danced out onto the stage, much to the delight of just about everyone in the audience. Although it was set up to look like Drake was surprised to see Lil Wayne joining him, odds are this was a well-planned stunt.
To his credit, Lil Wayne didn’t take the opportunity to hog the spotlight. Speaking to the audience about Drake, he had the following to say:
What do Bob Dylan and Lil’Wayne have in common? pretty much nothing, although these two artists have made this week’s top 5 featured albums. Of course the cake winner is Dylan, with years of raspy crooning and twangy guitar tunes under his belt, still managing to please the critics and awe fans 30-some odd years down the road. Is Lil Wayne really still in jail? Because with all the activity that’s been going on in regards to his music career, the need for a “Free Weezy” campaign could just be a big joke on us.
Okay, I was just kidding. You can calm down, Weezy fans. It just seems like the only thing he’s suffering from is loneliness because the guy is staying busy. He’s still chatting with fans and working hard to still have a presence in the industry no matter where he may be sleeping. The most recent news about Weezy in jail? The rapper is about to drop a new EP titled I Am Not a Human Being. (Perhaps this is what he was listening to when he got busted for headphones in the cell.)
You know, Lil’ Wayne just can’t catch a break – while currently serving time in New York’s Rikers Island due to weapons possession charges, the Los Angeles Times reports that Weezy was busted on Monday for possession of “music contraband.”
Lil Wayne is doing everything he can to make sure his name is still out there while he’s serving time in prison for an illegal gun possession. Not only has he played Jesus in a Cartoon Network show and shooting seven music videos before he got locked up, but now his team has launched a website called “Weezy Thanx You.” Yes, that’s thanks with an x.
