Lil’ Wayne didn’t win that lawsuit he filed against the filmmakers of The Carter. In fact, he lost, big time. The rapper is being forced to pay a hefty amount of money to the producers, including Quincy Jones III, for costing them profit potential of their 2009 film.
Despite the fact that he’s busy still wrenching the American economy out of a recession, there’s a presidential election happening in a few months, and that fact in general that he’s the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet, President Barack Obama was talking about Nicki Minaj during a radio interview on Monday morning.
You’ve got to admit—Jimmy Kimmel is a late night talk show host who can think on his feet, as evidenced by his quick thinking on Thursday night, when rapper Lil Wayne was a no-show for his scheduled appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Lil Wayne (a.k.a. Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.) went and had an accident over the weekend—which usually happens when a guy approaching 30 starts skateboarding like a 15 year old, as it turns out that the rapper was injured at a skateboard park on Sunday night.

Lil Wayne recently earned his gangsta rap credentials by completing a prison sentence and since being released he’s been eager to get back to doing what he loves; performing before a crowd of adoring fans. While fellow Young Money comrade Drake was giving a concert in Las Vegas on November 6, Lil Wayne danced out onto the stage, much to the delight of just about everyone in the audience. Although it was set up to look like Drake was surprised to see Lil Wayne joining him, odds are this was a well-planned stunt.
To his credit, Lil Wayne didn’t take the opportunity to hog the spotlight. Speaking to the audience about Drake, he had the following to say:

Is Lil Wayne really still in jail? Because with all the activity that’s been going on in regards to his music career, the need for a “Free Weezy” campaign could just be a big joke on us.
Okay, I was just kidding. You can calm down, Weezy fans. It just seems like the only thing he’s suffering from is loneliness because the guy is staying busy. He’s still chatting with fans and working hard to still have a presence in the industry no matter where he may be sleeping. The most recent news about Weezy in jail? The rapper is about to drop a new EP titled I Am Not a Human Being. (Perhaps this is what he was listening to when he got busted for headphones in the cell.)
You know, Lil’ Wayne just can’t catch a break – while currently serving time in New York’s Rikers Island due to weapons possession charges, the Los Angeles Times reports that Weezy was busted on Monday for possession of “music contraband.”
