Yesterday after a courtroom fire, Lil Wayne once again received a reprieve from his imminent imprisonment for weapons charges. He previously managed to duck out of his original February 9th sentencing to undergo eight root canals, so apparently he’s luckier at dodging court dates than The Sopranos’ Uncle Junior. The flamboyant rapper made a celebratory appearance at last night’s Jay-Z show in New York’s Madison Square Garden. Take a look…

Lil Wayne Sentencing Postponed For A Second Time Lil Wayne Sentencing Postponed For A Second Time

Rapper, Lil Wayne, was sentenced to a yearlong jail term when he pleaded guilty for possessing a loaded gun on his tour bus back in July of 2007. Wayne was originally set to pay his dues behind bars last month but it was postponed because he needed dental surgery for a toothache which is assumed to be related to his “grill” or rather jewelry encrusted teeth.

There’s no doubt that when we posted this photo and this video from 1985′s original “We Are The World,” we’re still in awe of so many great talents together doing such a great thing. Although life seems to have its triumphs and its tragedies, it’s great to know that there will always be people who want to help during troubled times. Last night, Quincy Jones and a roster of all-star 81 musicians have come together in LA to make that magic happen once again with the re-recording and taping event for Haiti.

Watch Grammy 2010 Performances Watch: Grammys 2010 Performances

Last night was the big night for the music industry. The 52nd Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles’ Staples Center and everyone from Justin Beiber to Jeff Beck showed up for the special event. Also, like usual, they managed to cram in 16 performances into a three hour show.

Although, we have to admit, with the exception of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, The 3-D Michael Jackson tribute, and Mary J. Blige/Andrea Bocelli duet, the show didn’t live up to the hype last night. Whether you tuned in or missed out last night, we’ve got all the performances for you to watch below!

Lil Wayne To Play Jesus Alongside T Pain Lil Wayne To Play Jesus Alongside T Pain

We know, we know. What a title for a post! Although many fans of Lil Wayne already consider him as a god, we will now actually get to hear the MC speak as God. He may be going to the slammer for attempting criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, but he sure is making us remember his name while he’s in there.

According to Billboard, Wayne will be speaking to us from above – but in cartoon form. Apparently, there is an Adult Swim special coming up called “Freakniks” and since his buddy, T-Pain, is behind this gig, the rapper gets to play Jesus Christ for a day. Jesus Christ… More after the jump!

CalTech grad student named Virgil Griffith has conducted an interesting (albeit somewhat unscientific) study relating music preferences with SAT scores. While SAT scores are criticized for not accurately determining intelligence, the results show that the “smartest” students’ favorite musician is Beethoven, with an average SAT score of 1371, and at the other end of the spectrum is Lil’ Wayne, with an average score of 889.

Other bands at the top of the scale are Counting Crows, Radiohead, and Sufjan Stevens. Check out the full image of the results after the jump:

 Grammys Round Up: Performance Highlights

Last night, The Grammys did what they do best: Cram 24 performances into one night between all the awards. Award highlights go out to Coldplay for best rock album (no surprise there), Robert Plant and Alison Krauss for record of the year, and Lil Wayne taking the grammy for best rap album.

The performances ranged from painful (Kid Rock) to ridiculous (Katy Perry). Yet, there was a glimpse of actual entertainment when M.I.A. came out with the “Rap Pack” (Kanye, T.I., Jay-Z, Lil Wayne) in an outfit that not only accentuated her nine months pregnant belly, but also saved whoever’s ass came up with the “Rap Pack” idea. However, the bonus performance for everyone was Radiohead’s spectacular show of “15 Step” complete with the USC marching band fully backing Yorke.

Check out the performances from Radiohead, Kanye, Coldplay, and more after the jump!
