Yes, that’s the real song title but if you were already a Lily Allen fan, you would have known that.
The Brit-pop star has always been known for her blunt mouth in reality but cunning communication in songwriting. Well, “F*ck You” is a little obvious but it has a good message from start to end with opening lyrics such as “Look inside your tiny mind, now look a bit harder – ‘Cause we’re so uninspired, so sick and tired, from all the hatred you harbor.” It’s obvious that Lily would have voted NO on Prop 8, and her video “F*ck You” may just illustrate her disapproval for people who voted yes.
Although the censoring in the song is a bit rough for radio edit, the video is still enjoyable along with the lyrics as she shows you a day in the life of Lily Allen. (At one point, her sunglasses reminisce an effect of dichotomy that was in her video, “LDN.”) Check it out below!

It’s Lily Allen vs. The New York Times. Why is the pop star so furious with the prestigious publication? Well it turns out that after she had a very pleasant interview and feature in their Arts section, the NYT decided to sell their photos of Allen in her home to OK! Magazine. Feeling that those photos were intimate and exclusive to that photographer and publication, she found it “patronizing, and gross, ” of them to sell it to tabloid type magazines.
Read her entire MySpace blog entry below where she justifies her reasons, then let us know how you would feel if you were in Allen’s shoes!

The weekend’s over already and you’re probably back at your desk job or surfing the web in class while your teacher drones on and on – or maybe you’re just in need of a good read. In any case, you’ve come to right place for some fresh music news to start off the week. Until you get your hands on a steaming cup of coffee, here are some of the weekend’s top headlines to get you going:
- I hate to think that my writing about him might actually inflate his ego more, but the latest in the Kanye-West-is-a-whiner series is just too entertaining to pass up. Over the weekend, West made comments during a taping of VH1′s “Storytellers” saying that Radiohead “snubbed” him backstage at the Grammys (the comments were not included in the episode). He seemed to be referring mostly to Thom Yorke, or one specific Radiohead member, because he’s quoted saying, “So when he performed at the Grammys, I sat the fuck down.” There is a slim possibility, West actually thinks Radiohead is just Thom Yorke, hence the “he” not the “they”. I’m surprised we didn’t hear further reports of Kanye calling Radiohead to uninvite them from his birthday party…

“It’s Not Me, It’s You” is English singer Lily Allen‘s second album, featuring her new musical direction. Fans of Allen’s writing need not fear; the lyrics still contain her dry wit and take-no-prisoners social commentary. The music, however, deviates from her debut; it is more in the vein of synth/electro-pop music, creating a bright, atmospheric sound. The songs still retain the same upbeat and almost toy doll mood; it’s just presented in a different package.

Lily Allen performed “Everyone’s At It” at the Bowery Ballroom for her MySpace secret show in New York over the weekend. It looks like it was a pretty small and personal show, which must have been great if you were a fan lucky enough to get in.
Although, there is something odd about this video. Lily Allen, doesn’t sound English when she first walks out on stage. She sounds like she’s from NY. Maybe she has a good fake accent? Or maybe she’s been faking that whole “English” thing the whole time! What do you think?

It’s no surprise that Lily Allen has agreed to promote her new album, It’s Not Me, It’s You, through MySpace Music. MySpace is what got Lily listeners and eventually a record deal. With that said, she will perform 3 intimate shows in New York, Tokyo, and London at no charge through the social media platform. That’s right – FREE. This is the first time an artist will participate in multiple MySpace Music secret shows on a global level.
For those of you in New York City, it’ll be happening on Februrary 10th (her US album release date) at The Bowry Ballroom. To get more details, all you have to do is become MySpace friends with MySpace Secret Shows Profile. You will then be notified of all details through a MySpace bulletin. It’s easy as that, and we already know one thing: Matt and Kim will be opening for her!
Also, beginning February 10th, Lily’s new album will be available to purchase for $3.99 for a limited time on her MySpace Music player through Amazon MP3.

Let’s take a quick looks at what’s going wrong with musicians today…
- Lilly Allen apparently has some grandpa issues. After meeting Lucian Freud, the German-born, 86 year old painter who resides in London, Allen felt the urge to get in bed with him. “I met him and I thought ‘I want to shag [him].’ It would be funny. He’s four times my age” Allen stated. Ummm, funny? That’s just nasty, Lilly, nasty. [NME]
- Lux Interior, the frontman for the influential punk band, The Cramps, died yesterday at 4:30 pm at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, CA. Interior, whose real name was Erik Lee Purkhiser, passed away due to a previously existing heart condition. Survived by Poison Ivy, his wife and band member, Interior will be remembered for his wild stage antics and influence on the 70′s punk scene in New York. [NME]

One of our favorite Brit-pop girls, Lily Allen, is getting ready to release her new album, It’s Not Me, It’s You, on February 10th (a day after the release in the UK). However, since Lily got her start through cyberspace and especially through MySpace, she is being nice enough to let us hear the album even before the big day. The entire album can be heard on her MySpace page as of right now. Her two bigger hits, “Smile” and “Everything’s Just Wonderful,” from her previous album are still included on there as well.
Does Lily Allen still have the same wit we loved on the first album?
