Although we don’t like to trek too far from our usual LA spots for indie rock shows, BeatCrave was more than excited to see Los Campesinos! play Pomona’s Glass House on Monday night. After playing a packed show at the El Rey Theatre, we knew the crowd this night would be a bit more tame as Angelenos don’t like to drive further than the have to but this didn’t mean that the British band would tone down their stage antics.

Los Campesinos Music Video Romance Is Boring Los Campesinos! Music Video: Romance Is Boring

Los Campesinos! return with their third studio album, Romance Is Boring, an album which Gareth Campesinos! recently told Billboard they’ve matured on. Although they may have grown up in regards to songwriting, it doesn’t mean that their videos will get any more tame.

The latest for the title track, “Romance Is Boring,” certainly doesn’t play nice as well-behaved adults should. Put in a neglecting beer-guzzling husband, a miserable housewife whose make-up foreshadows events, a kid who gets lost in kabuki makeup, and you’ve got a short but very bizarre storyline for a video.

Los Campesinos Grows Up On Romance Los Campesinos! Grow Up On Romance

Welsh band, Los Campesinos!, is known for their cohesive sounds of glockenspiel, violin, melody horn, and more ultimately making them a legitimate indie band from overseas. Their album, Hold on Now, Youngster…, gained critical acclaim and finally boosted their songs in both the UK and US music charts.

Although well known, leading Los Campesinos! member, Gareth Campesinos! says that they have even more to give with their upcoming album, Romance Is Boring, which is slated for release on February 1 via Arts and Crafts. He tells Billboard (via Reuters) that when they first started out, he “was a bit of a jackass.”

Los Campesinos Music Video There Are Listed Buildings Los Campesinos! Music Video: There Are Listed Buildings

After losing member, Aleksandra, but gaining new member, Kim, the lovable septet, Los Campesinos!, is back with another video for their second single off of their untitled upcoming album. Los Campensinos!’s sound is just like what one of their photos shoots look like. You can hear every single member (as you would see them all in a shoot) because every single instrument from the glock to guitars to horns can be heard within any of their high-energy and fast-paced songs. The video for “There Are Listed Buildings” is no different.

We love bringing you daily news but we also love that this video takes us through the whirlwind of crazy events from a writer’s point of view. Watch the blogger in this video have an epiphany and cause a ruckus after he steals his girlfriend out of a pool.

los campesinos bc 1024x731 Review and Photos: Los Campesinos!

Los Campesinos! could have easily been terrible live but frontman Gareth is able to conduct the seven-piece in what is most easily described as a full-on post-punk symphony with just a hint of clutter. Gareth also manages to come off as likeable despite his prissy complaining. The latest effort in their rapidly growing catalogue, We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed, made up part of the night’s set list while Hold On Now, Youngster… rounded it out. While Doomed doesn’t quite match the handful of songs that floated around in their 2005-06 beginnings, the songs seemed as though they were built for the stage. Continue Reading
