Finally, a rapper that Republicans can fawn over—sort of.  Rapper Lupe Fiasco told CBS’ What’s Trending (a web-based series talking to supposed Twitter “influencers”) that “The biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States Of America,” which should go over well.  He also states that he doesn’t vote because it happens to be “meaningless,” according to The AV Club.

Slash Dave Matthews Band Peter Gabriel Donate Unreleased Music For Haiti Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Slash Donate Unreleased Music For Haiti

Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Slash, Lupe Fiasco and more have generously donated some of their new or unreleased material so that more funds can go toward Haiti relief. In a compilation titled, Download to Donate for Haiti, the Music For Relief organization have teamed up with United Nations Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Dave Matthews Band’s BAMA Works to offer music in exchange for donations.

Music For Relief was founded by the band, Linkin Park, and is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid victims of natural disasters and the prevention of such disasters. More info on how you can download and donate for those whose lives have been shattered below.

New Moon has undoubtedly released on of the best soundtrack albums of 2009 by taking an indie turn for the better. The soundtrack’s lead single “Meet Me on the Equinox” by Death Cab For Cutie was the perfect rock sound that came off as introspective and suspenseful. The video for it featured numerous shots of Bella struggling with her loss of Edward and Jacob’s entrance eventually leading up to the pinnacle part of the film where she tries to save her true love.

With Death Cab capturing the desperate solitude New Moon‘s characters are obligated to live, the soundtrack evolved around depression quite a bit. However, if fans didn’t purchase the soundtrack with the bonus tracks they may have missed out on Lupe Fiasco‘s contribution. Known for his hip-hop albums, Lupe Fiasco: Food & Liquor and its follow-up, Lupe Fiasco: The Cool, the rapper took a refreshing spin on the genre. The track he lent to New Moon, however, is far from his signature sound. “Solar Midnight” which he produced, provides the edgier rock side of Fiasco.
