Politicians may be fighting about Arizona’s fairly new immigration bill (SB1070) in their fancy ties for the cameras but most of us both in and outside of the state fear for the people there who are just trying to live a normal life there. We aren’t the only ones who are concerned.

Although they may be rock stars now, musicians such as Rage Against The Machine, Massive Attack and Kanye West have come together to form an anti-Arizona artist coalition because they too still have some compassion as human beings (even Kanye). According to our buddies over at Consequence of Sound, they are calling themselves The Sound Strike. See who else is involved after the jump.

Massive Attack have announced that their fifth studio album, Heligoland, is scheduled for release on February 8, 2010.

Heligoland is going to feature a bunch of terrific guest performers, including Blur’s Damon Albarn Elbow’s Guy Garvey, Martina Topley-Bird, Hope Sandoval, Horace Andy and Tunde Adebimpe. It’s been six years since the Massive Attack duo from Bristol, UK released their last album, 100th Window.

The Glastonbury Festival marks its 40th anniversary in 2010, and organizers are planning to book 40 bands from the past 40 years to play live performances at the event. Radiohead, Blur, PJ Harvey, Jeff Buckley, The Cure and Massive Attack are just a few of the thousands of artists that have graced “Glasto’s” stages.

Michael Eavis founded the event in 1970 on his dairy farm near Pilton, Somerset. His daughter Emily said they were both planning the celebration next year, and told the BBC:

“We want to have a band from every year on the Pyramid Stage.”
