Review of Take Action Vol. 8 Compilation CD/DVD
Tuesday, March 10, 2009 1:30PM - By Kara
Take Action Volume 8 is a compilation CD/DVD released by Hopeless Records and their non-profit organization, Sub City. The Take Action compilations benefit DoSomething.org. With each sale, 5% of the proceeds will be donated to DoSomething.org. The goal of DoSomething.org is to empower the youth in our society, because they believe that young people know what needs to change within society, but they lack the means to do something about it. The organization donates money to young people to help them accomplish goals and make a difference within their community.
The CD includes tracks by Cute Is What We Aim For, Motion City Soundtrack, The Spill Canvas, Meg & Dia, Four Year Strong, and All Time Low. The CD includes songs previously unreleased by The Spill Canvas, Four Year Strong, and Meg & Dia. The variety of songs on the compilation is fairly diverse; spanning from a live recording of The Spill Canvas’s “All Over You,” to the electronically-inspired “Diamonds”, to Meg & Dia’s lovely, unreleased track “Halloween.” For the most part, the songs are upbeat and entertaining.

BeatCrave Fav: Motion City Soundtrack

“I’m on fire, and now I think I’m ready to bust a move – check it out, I’m rockin’ steady, uh!” Lyrics like these are only one of the great qualities of Motion City Soundtrack. They are versatile in that they can sing about anything and still sound good doing so. Founded in 1997, this American pop-rock band from Minnesota has slowly paved their way in the world of music, leaving footprints in the ground and impressions in hearts.

Concert Photo Essay: Honda Civic Tour – Motion City Soundtrack, The Hush Sound, and Panic at the Disco
Monday, June 16, 2008 5:16PM - By Winnie Jaing
The Honda Civic Tour ended its two month long trip at the Honda Center on Saturday Night. 8,000 people of all ages showed up to watch, and even a few started waiting in line at 6 in the morning.
Unfortunately, I missed Phantom Planet, but the rest of the bands were very good. Despite some malfunctions, The Hush Sound played a very solid set. Motion City Soundtrack (who, in my opinion, should have headlined), was very good, as always. Panic at the Disco rounded out the show with an hour and fifteen minutes of pleasure for the audience. Here are some pictures from the evening:
