Our time up in San Francisco went by faster than we had hoped! Outside Lands Festival 2010 was literally a nice breath of fresh air compared to festivals like Coachella. It also had that breeze we didn’t get at Lollapalooza the weekend before. Most of all, it had a lot of hippies who just wanted to share the love… man. My Morning Jacket is one of those bands you have to see at least once during a lifetime and we’ve been lucky enough to see them several times at numerous festivals. Although they started late, fans were already packed in front of the Lands End stage to hear the Kentucky-based band play some of their biggest hits.
Opening with music that almost sounded like smooth jazz, the band finally walked on to stage and went into “Tonight I Wanna Celebrate” which had the crowd roar with approval.

Well, the controversial Arizona immigration law continues to send the music world into a state of apoplexy – after such artists as Jenny and Johnny and dynamic duo Hall and Oates have boycotted performing there in protest, and Rage Against the Machine’s Zach de la Rocha formed the Sound Strike, in which various musicians publicly boycott the entire Copper State until the law is repealed, even more musician’s are joining de la Rocha’s strike. Pitchfork reports that artists as varied as My Morning Jacket, Nine Inch Nails, and Gogol Bordello have also joined in.

Yes, this headline may sound a bit familiar, but Billy Corgan is not the only one doing it. Everyone is doing it now. My Morning Jacket‘s Jim James has created his own record label named Removador Recordings and Solutions.
Earlier today, James announced that he has started it up with his cousin Johnny Quaid, who is a former My Morning Jacket’s guitarist. Also, even with an announcement like this which usually implies beginning phases, he says he’s already got a ton of releases to put out on this label of his!
