Along with Washed Out and Toro Y Moi, one of our other favorite chillwave artists is Neon Indian. Initially just a moniker for the music Vega‘s Alan Polomo songs that didn’t quite fit wit his band, Neon Indian has now become a critically acclaimed artist by people such as Spin, Rolling Stone, and Gorilla vs. Bear for the album, Psychic Chasms.
Now Polomo’s got some fresh material for our listening pleasure and it fits right into the sounds of the 80s and electronica we love so much from him as Neon Indian. The new song, titled “Sleep Paralysist” which was co-produced by Grizzly Bear‘s Chris Taylor can be heard and downloaded after the jump!

In case you missed anything, here are some music news from this past weekend:
- Michael Jacksonh ad a insurance policy for the upcoming tour dates in London that was supposed to be up to $17.5 million in damages if the shows were to be cancelled. According to NME.com, that poly was to be void in the case if he was found to be in possession of illegal drugs or if the singer was involved in the “illicit taking of drug.” So who is responsible for the damages? Will Jackson’s doctors giving him a deadly dose of drugs also void the policy? (NME)
- Diditleak Updates: Here are some albums that have leaked in the last couple days, according to diditleakss’ twitter account. Only one is due this coming Tuesday, the rest still have time. Neon Indian | Psychic Chasms | Due out October 13th; Health | Get Color | Due out Sept. 8th; Vivian Girls | Everything Goes Wrong | Due out September 8th; Winds of Plague | The Great Stone War | Due out August 11th. - Willy DeVillep, of Mink DeVille fame, passed away on August 6th, according to NME.com. As part of the more respected 1970′s New York punk scene, DeVille will be missed and remembered always. (NME).
