In one of the more bizarre and ridiculous Super Bowl halftime shows in recent memory, Madonna’s performance on Sunday night featured the singer on a golden throne while wearing a golden headdress, surrounded by half-naked gladiators as she lip-synched her way through a batch of old hits and new songs. There was some controversy, there was some “edginess,” and there was some just plain weirdness.

Oh, boy. Singer Nicki Minaj is known for her fluorescent clothes, big wig hairdos, and general fashion weirdness. So it should be of no surprise that Minaj would show up to Good Morning America this morning for a live performance with a hot pink jacket, a gigantic blond wig, and some kind of strange tutu/ hotpants combo, right? Right. Still, it turns out that Good Morning America, Minaj, and the American audiences all got a little more than they bargained for, and a dreaded little phrase from our recent pop cultural past got to rear its head again: Wardrobe Malfunction.

Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster.com on April 30th, and the 26-city tour will run from June 17 in San Francisco to August 13 in Toronto, Canada.

VH1′s Divas Salute the Troops was packed with sequins and colorful hair on Sunday night. The event was hosted by comedian Kathy Griffith and featured performances by a variety of divas. Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj covered Cyndi Lauper‘s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” Paramore‘s Haley Williams performed to an enthusiastic crowd in Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. And the legendary Aretha Franklin (who is recovering from surgery) received a surprise tribute from Sugarland and rapper MC Lyte.

Another year has gone by and and another batch of unnecessary awards shows have also occurred to capitalize on the teen market who ave no clue the “M” in MTV used to stand for Music Television. Honing in on reality shows such as the filthy Jersey Shore and getting the best B-list celebrity talk show host to talk smack about A-list celebrities (via Chelsea Handler) basically sums up our vapid generation’s interest last night.
