Of Montreal CP 10 30 2010f of Montreal, Janelle Monae: Concert Review and Photos

This past Halloween weekend, it seemed that every one’s schedules were packed with plenty of concert choices. We got our early start with The New LA Folk Fest and their Murder Ballad night then fell in to a good groove with The Henry Clay People’s Halloween Rock and Roll Circus. However, Saturday – the night everyone would be gallivanting in masks and outrageous get ups at some shindig or another – offered the best to come for we had the opportunity to see Janelle Monae and of Montreal at The Hollywood Palladium.

Boozing it up with your friends and waking up in a different costume the next morning can provide you with a good story. However, opting to take in a show such as of Montreal’s – which was beyond enriched with visuals and sex-crazed theatrics in the midst of vaudeville-esque disco beats – was the way to celebrate in style this year.

Can’t catch them tonight? They’ll be playing Saturday the 18th as well. With Janelle Monae – Buy Tickets

Watch of Montreal Joined By Susan Sarandon and Solange On Stage Watch: of Montreal Joined By Susan Sarandon and Solange On Stageof Montreal has gone through many new phases since their formation in 1996. Last night, the band’s show at Manhattan’s Highline Ballroom was no exception. In fact, it was probably one the greatest live sets thanks to Susan Sarandon and Solange who joined them on stage last night. We’ve got videos for you below!

Yo Gabba Gabba To Release Album Yo Gabba Gabba! To Release Album

Wasn’t it just yesterday that we mentioned Yo Gabba Gabba!? True story.

Why were we talking about Nickelodeon’s kids show? Probably because we love Chromeo and they are just ONE of the awesome artists who have contributed to the show. Forget Dora the Explorer or silly purple teletubbies. Yo Gabba Gabba! managed to become the coolest show for both kids and adults. Usually teaching kids positive lessons like “lathering up” before dinner time, guest stars always include indie-friendly artists such as of Montreal, The Shins, and The Roots.

scors09 9 22 Bands That Should Be Scoring Films

You’re sitting in a dark movie theater watching the latest blockbuster, indie comedy, or zombie thriller when all of a sudden a familiar voice echoes in the background. Instead of focusing on the actors on the screen, you zone out while listening to the melodic tune of your favorite musician. When you’re two greatest loves are film and music, nothing could be better than hearing you’re favorite band on your favorite movie’s soundtrack.

When it comes to the silver screen, there are plenty of great film composers to choose from, but Hollywood should try a different approach.
