Another year – another season, mind – another music festival. When it gets old, you’ll be the first to know.
It’s hard to believe that the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival is only three years young, but maybe that’s why it’s looking so good. The official lineup was announced today and things are ready and rearing to go this August 12-14. Stadium heavyweights Muse and Phish leading the pack with two sets, and such movers-and-shakers from Arcade Fire, MGMT, The Black Keys, The Decemberists and Erykah Badu, to our favorites Foster the People and oft-on-our-radar Grouplove and The Vaccines, will take on the various stages at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA.

OK Go, currently best known by many people as “that band with the treadmill video,” recently contributed a tune called “The Greatest Song I Ever Heard” (well aren’t we modest?) to filmmaker Morgan Spurlock’s new project POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.
To promote the single, the band is streaming it for free over at the Rolling Stone website.

Ok Go is certainly known for their delightfully catchy power-pop songs and their latest album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, does not disappoint with new a turn down the dance-y road. The band claims inspiration from Prince and it is clear why. Although the latest album is a departure from their previous albums, they managed to keep aspects of their sound very much the same.

We’re not saying WTF. That is actually the name of Ok Go‘s new song off of their upcoming album, Of the Blue Corner of the Sky (slated for release on January 12, 2010).
Ok Go is known for extravagantly entertaining videos, and this one is no different. The only thing is, there is much more green screen action going on in this one. This may not top their “A Million Ways” or “Here It Goes Again” videos, but it’s definitely a fun watch. Also, for once, Tim is not lip syncing to Damian’s vocals.
Check the official video below and then watch the “behind-the-scenes” video with commentary by Ok Go’s Damian Kulash and Tim Nordwind!

The New Moon soundtrack has been announced, and it couldn’t be any more different from the first one! We knew it was going to have an indie sound, but this is just ridiculous! Ridiculous in a good way, anyway.
We had known about Thom Yorke, Bon Iver, Band of Skulls, and Death Cab For Cutie but who knew the Bon Iver track was going to be a duet with St. Vincent! Others that were recently suspected and now confirmed are The Killers, Grizzly Bear, and Stephanie Meyer’s muse, Muse.
Although one part of us is surprised that indie darlings, Anya Marina and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, are also in the mix, another part says this makes sense. A few of these artists are somehow associated with Alexandra Patsavas’ label, Chop Shop, or her close friends, Nettwerk Music Group. Check out the full track list below and tell us what you think!
