General Larry Platt became an overnight sensation with his song, “Pants on the Ground” which he performed for the judges on American Idol. Randy bopped his head, Kara smiled out of confusion, Mary J. Blige roared with laughter, and Simon made a very true statement: “I have a horrible feeling that song could be a hit.”

Although the General from the Atlanta auditions claimed he had written the song, there is another elderly rap duo by the name of Green Brothers who say his song was inspired by their song, “Back Pockets on the Floor.” According to Yahoo’s Reality Rocks, the hip-hop pair from Michigan declare that their song was written in 1996 which is 13 years before the Idol audition with Platt.
