Rihanna released a new music video for “Diamonds,” a song from her upcoming album Unapologetic, due out November 19. In the video, Rihanna runs violently, smokes seductively and floats on water. You can see the video below. Also, Thom Yorke announced the release date for the Atoms For Peace record. It’ll come out early next year. If you weren’t aware of Passion Pit having their own record label, you know now. Also, when we say Passion Pit, we really mean their synth-sample player, Ayad Al Adhamy. Adhamy runs an imprint that goes by the name of Black Bell Records and with the success of Passion Pit over the last one and half years and indie artists having the freedom to do what they want these days, we’re not actually surprised Adhamy has his own label.
The big part in this piece of news is that Adhamy just signed his first band to the label – and a great one at that. Black Bell Records’ first artist is none other than North Wales-based band, The Joy Formidable.

2009 was a great year in music, and we hope you enjoyed what it’s brought you. There’s been a wealth in reissues and limited edition releases, but new full-lengths will always be a thrill for music fiends like us.
So we count down the best albums of the year. Although there have been some great EPs and singles, this list includes only full-length albums that have been released in the US. Check our top 20 out below and let us know what you think!

Passion Pit has had one hell of a year, and we’ve been following them ever since Chunk of Change was commercially released as an EP. Every “Best Of” list they’ve made since then has been a reward that was well-deserved for their unique sound and energy on their albums and at their live shows.
Their full-length debut album, Manners, was even more successful and easily made them one of the top bands to book at any venue or at any festival. They recently kicked off a major tour that started with NYC’s annual Summerstage and will continue to play everywhere from London to Paris to Tokyo.
Tonight, they will be playing a sold-out Los Angeles show at the Henry Fonda. Get pumped up for tonight by checking out this exclusive interview I was able to get with Passion Pit’s drummer, Nate Donmoyer, below! Catch a glimpse of their ride of success in the past and what’s to come in the future.

As if we couldn’t get enough Phoenix as it is, we are now excited to share some great news about them!
After Animal Collective did a wicked cover of their song, “Love Like A Sunset,” Phoenix is really getting into the idea with an entire album! That’s right. There will be an entire collection of songs in the same vein of the Animal Collective cover, and the album to be covered is none other than their latest album, (the one probably still in your 25 most played songs on iTunes), Wolfgang Amedeus Phoenix!
