“The X Factor” is getting a makeover, from head to toe. U.K. TV personality Steve Jones won’t be returning as host for the second season of “The X Factor,” along with judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Jones confirmed the bad news via Twitter, telling fans what a ‘shame’ it is that he won’t be hosting the show again.
Paula Abdul is trying to take two steps forward, after moving two steps back. Everyone knew the designated “nice” judge from the hit television series American Idol, who was known for her “coo-coo” moments as well as her sweetness, couldn’t stay away too long.
She’s got a new gig, but it’s on an old show.
Just a little over a month after Paula Abdul quit American Idol via twitter, Fox has announced that long-time fan and talk-show host, Ellen DeGeneres, has been announced as her replacement.
DeGeneres who says, “”I don’t know how it happened myself, but I have not missed one episode of that show,” has been partnered up with Fox for about two weeks before she finally announced it on her talk show on Wednesday. Although she has been a guest on So You Think You Can Dance since she is also an avid fan of dancing, the talk-show host does not have any particular training in the music field other than being a fan again. The American Idol gig will become her “night gig” as she will not be canceling her talk show in order fill the position.

Even though the American Idol executives weren’t even sure about bringing Kara DioGuardi back as another female host, it turns out they renewed her contract as well as TRIPLED Ryan Seacrest‘s salary that goes for $45 million over a span of three years. As for Abdul, well – she was only getting paid around two or three million through her former contract. When executives offered her a $10 million dollar multi-year contract, she refused because she believed she was worth more than that to the show.
