Pitchfork Music Festival has announced their headliners for their annual event which takes place in Chicago’s Union Park. Slated to occur on July 16 – 18, Pitchfork never fails to get some of the biggest names of the year. Pavement has added another date to their massive reunion tour by becoming a headliner on Sunday night while LCD Soundsystem and Modest Mouse headline Friday and Saturday, respectively. Raekwon will also be performing on Saturday night bringing the festival’s well-rounded roster.

The track list for Pavement’s upcoming greatest hits, Quarantine The Past: The Best Of Pavement, has been announced. The 23-track collection will be released March 8, available from Matador Records on double LP, CD and digital. Quarantine The Past covers the history of the band (1989 to 1999) from their first, self-released EP to their final album.

It’s almost here! In March, a Pavement compilation album will be released to kick off the new decade! Although it’s not a greatest hits or a new album, we’re glad Pavement is doing any type reunion at all and we can’t say much about how they want to release an album during this brief but glorious time.
The compilation album is titled Quarantine of the Past: The Best of Pavement, but keep in mind that it’s not a greatest hits album. So what are they considering the best of their repertoire and more importantly, what have you got to do with the track listing? Find out after the jump!

Although indie rock legends, Pavement, has told everyone not to expect any new material from them despite their massive reunion tour schedule for 2010, there IS hope for a “Best Of” compilation to come our way.
Guitarist, Scott Kannberg, recently talked to NME about future Pavement releases and is considering throwing something together so our favorite record stores can have something shiny and brand new for the shelves.

The Pavement reunion is not going to stop until all the big cities have been hit!
The indie rock legends have just announced another tour date and according to our suspicion, we were right. This one goes toward the Brits. Pavement will be returning to Brixton Academy in London, UK on May 11th, 2010; this will mark their first performance at the location since their final performance over 10 years ago. General tickets go on sale at 9:00 AM (BST) this Friday, October 23rd.
After announcing Summerstage in NYC, All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival, Australia and New Zealand dates, this makes it a total of 15 Pavement reunion dates now! Speaking of ATP Festival, as one of 2010′s curators, the band has also announced some of their supporting bands. See who they chose after the jump!

Pavement is everywhere with this reunion. In the blogosphere or around the world, it doesn’t matter. We couldn’t be happier.
After announcing their Summerstage dates for NYC and Pavement weekend at All Tomorrow’s Parties 2010, they’ve decided to please their fans down under: According to Triple J, Pavement have added six more scheduled dates which commence on March 4, 2010 in Sydney.
If you’re beginning to wonder when they’re going to come to your area, there is also word that these Australian dates may be the kick off for a tour throughout Europe and the States as well. The best part about this rumor is that it may be a lengthy tour schedule… We’re personally hoping LA is included in those yet to be announced dates!

Much like “Duck, duck, goose,” it also goes the same way for speculations and confirmations: “Rumor, rumor, fact.” We Internet geeks just eat this stuff up, so we want to throw another one at you.
As a side note to the unveiling of Stagecoach’s full line-up featuring country artists such as Keith Urban, Sugarland, and The Avett Brothers, Billboard has also confirmed our hunch by stating that Coachella 2010 will take place on the familiar grounds of Indio, California on April 16 – 18. This makes sense since the indie toting festival has repeatedly taken place one week before the country festival.
