If there’s anything the flailing music industry needs right now, it’s a smug/ entitled talking head obsessed with glitz and celebrity—which is why gossip blogger Perez Hilton took time out from his SXSW “One Night in Austin” party to announce to Billboard that he’ll be hosting his own music countdown show in the near future, one that will act as “a cooler alternative” to ‘On-Air With Ryan Seacrest. In June 2009, Perez Hilton and and Black Eyed Peas manager had a throw down after an argument back stage at the Much Music Video Awards. It started out with Hilton making homohphobic slurs toward Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am and ended up with the band’s manager, Liborio “Polo” Molina, throwing the punches back as a reaction.
TMZ had caught it all on video, but Perez Hilton, himself, had twittered about the fight and made a video recalling the night’s event from his perspective. Hilton has millions of loyal fans (we’re not quite sure why), and a majority of them were concerned about his well-being. However, all charges against Molina had been dropped Wednesday morning. It looks like Hilton can’t even use his fan’s pity to win everything.

Perez Hilton, the somewhat A-list celebrity who makes fun of other real A-list celebrities is having major troubles with this tour he launched. Snatching up artists such as Little Boots and Ladyhawke, the tour was supposed to be phenomenal and show that Hilton could really be part of the music industry.
Obviously, he thought wrong because the tour has barely been able to sell tickets, leading his team to severely slash the prices down to almost nothing. This little team in his head didn’t work and there is another team that flaunts an I-told-you-so sign at him with no regrets.
