Just as CMJ Music Festival takes pride in highlighting indie musicians during the fall, Pitchfork Music Festival 2010 is getting ready to do the same in Chicago come July 16 – 18. We previously brought out initial lineup with headliners such as indie rock gods, Pavement, along with LCD Soundsystem, Modest Mouse and Raekwon.

As we inch into Spring, summer will be just around the corner and Pitchfork Music Festival is looking like it’s successfully rounding up the cream of the indie crop again. New additions include Broken Social Scene (a reunion we’ve been waiting for forever), Panda Bear, Girls, and El-P and more. Check out who else has been added below!

pitchforkmusicfestival sl030609jpeg Pitchfork Music Festival Starting Lineup: You Pick The Songs! Last week, Pitchfork announced their dates for their annual music festival held in Chicago’s Union Park. Now we’ve got an initial lineup! Artists scheduled to perform are: Yo La Tengo, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Grizzly Bear, Vivian Girls and more. It’s sounding good so far.

However, they’re trying something a little different this year. They’re starting a series called “Write The Night: Set Lists By Requests” where the audience gets to vote for which songs all four bands (Built To Spill, the Jesus Lizard, Yo La Tengo, and Tortoise) will perform on Friday night. It’s supposed to work like this:
