New Kid Cudi Ratatat MGMT Music Video Pursuit of Happiness New Kid Cudi, Ratatat, MGMT Music Video: Pursuit of Happiness

Kanye West‘s latest protege, Kid Cudi, has made a name for himself over the past year and for someone who runs in West’s circle of friends, he seems pretty chill. We liked him even more when he teamed up with electronic rock duo Ratatat and Brooklyn hipster duo, MGMT for the song, “Pursuit of Happiness.” However, the video for the song was lackluster for such a great collaboration. We’re sure Drake fans were happy to see him popping champagne bottles with Kid Cudi in slow motion, but it came off as just an other stereotyped video for the hip hop genre.

R BRM 091709 Ratatat: BeatCrave Fav

Having been around since 2001, Ratatat is not stranger to the music scene.  Unfortunately for many people, however, this electronic duo from the N-Y-C is one they’ve not heard of… until now.  It’s so rare that a group comes along that can eliminate (almost) any vocals and compose fantastic tracks that take the listener on a journey not riddled with overbearing back-beats and bass.  In addition to their own music, Ratatat has also lent out their talent to such established artists as Bjork and Animal Collective, turning an already fantastic song into one of genius.

We at BeatCrave are proud to include them in our BeatCrave Fav series and hope you enjoy getting better acquainted with Ratatat.
