Despite that fact that the band has done absolutely nothing for the past four years (when their last record, Under the Blacklight, was released), and that the various band members have all splintered off into solo careers, it took guitarist Blake Sennett’s admission in an interview with Spinner today to make the world realized that Rilo Kiley are indeed not on hiatus, but are quite broken up.

This solo project bears the undeniable Blake Sennett (Rilo Kiley, The Elected) stamp: heartonthesleeve and dreamy lyrics about solitude and love buttered up by floating keys and days and days in a willowy falsetto that begs for the girl to come back and for that girl to stay.

I caught Stacy* Clark’s set at The Knitting Factory last week and was so blown away by her performance that I demanded an interview. Clark, a guitar playing singer songwriter, and her band performed a powerful set of guitar-heavy songs and heartfelt melodies from her album, Apples & Oranges. Clark is the Winner of the 2007 Orange County Music Awards for ‘Best Female Performer’ and ‘Best Female Artist’ 2006 Southern California Music Awards. Her music has appeared on the MTV and CBS television networks, and she has appeared on stage with Jacks Mannequin, and the Amsterdams. Thankfully, she took time out to answer a few questions.
