Malcolm McLaren Former Manager of Sex Pistols Dies At 641 Malcolm McLaren, Former Manager of Sex Pistols, Dies At 64

Malcolm McLaren, mostly known for managing the Sex Pistols during the peak of their fame over in the UK, has died of mesothelioma at the age of 64 today (April 8, 2010) , according to the New York Times. He passed away at a hospital in Switzerland and his body will be flown back to London to be buried at Highgate Cemetery.

As an inventive self-promoter and manager, this was the man who claimed he invented punk and most likely the man whom people think of when they hear the term, “music impresario.”

Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock said in an interview with The Quietus that there is a possibility the band will record a new album in 2009.

“The Sex Pistols? We’ve done our bit this year…we’ll meet again in the New Year and see what we want to do,” he explained.
