Los Campesinos CP 5 10 2010d Los Campesinos!, Signals: Concert Review and Photos

Although we don’t like to trek too far from our usual LA spots for indie rock shows, BeatCrave was more than excited to see Los Campesinos! play Pomona’s Glass House on Monday night. After playing a packed show at the El Rey Theatre, we knew the crowd this night would be a bit more tame as Angelenos don’t like to drive further than the have to but this didn’t mean that the British band would tone down their stage antics.

Signals Music Video What Dreams Signals Music Video: What Dreams

Signals hasn’t been around for that long but what we’ve seen and heard from them so far has soothed our woes about The Mae Shi losing three of its core members. The trio has just finished putting together a 7″ record with the tracks “Silvlerfish” and “What Dreams.” They’ll be selling them at shows but if it’s going to be a while until you get one, check out their video for the latter.

It involves staring into the camera, dogs, and what looks like peanut butter.

The Deadly Syndrome CP 3 25 2010i The Deadly Syndrome, Signals, Rabbits: Concert Review and Photos

The Deadly Syndrome‘s record release party and show took place last week at The Echoplex and even for a local band that has a massive following, the turnout for the show from beginning to end was successfully packed. It might have had to do something with the fantastic line up which presented Rabbits and Signals as their two opening acts. The Deadly Syndrome’s latest album, Nolens Volens, was not only a big deal for the band but also for their fans who have been looking forward to the band releasing brand new music.

Signals is a relatively new band comprised of members who are veterans to the music scene. The trio, consisting of the ex-members of The Mae Shi, have played together since 2005, but have only just recently decided to create the band itself. To date, there is no album released — only a single to keep fans at bay. There isn’t much information on the band just yet, as they are still making something of themselves, but their popularity is growing as they garner more exposure. Fresh off of SXSW, Signals is definitely a band you want to know more about.

Check out Signals below in our BeatCrave Fav series and if you like their sound as much as we do, vote for them in Friday’s poll!
