LA rock band Silversun Pickups will be the musical guest on tonight’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The groundbreaking indie band released their second album Swoon early last year, and are currently on tour with English rock-band Muse.
The late night show has guested hugely influential musicians such as Van Morrison and Ringo Starr, but in an attempt to make a place in the world for indie-rock stars, the late night show usually guests indie bands such as Cold War Kids, Iron & Wine, and The Dead Weather. It’s a great place for bands to show off how good they are to a more mainstream audience. With Silversun Pickups being one of the coolest bands right now, it’s no surprise they’ll be on tonight’s show.

While the July 4th weekend is big for hot dogs, pool parties, parades, men on stilts an dAmerican flag cakes, it is not a big weekend for concerts. Since most tickets go on sale on Saturday morning, Ticketmaster/ Live Nation probably assumes everyone will be too busy waving flags at parades to spend money on service fees in front of there computer. Are there any video game fans out there? Any Guitar Hero fans? Have you ever heard of Xbox Game with Fame? If you haven’t, it is actually a cool idea, basically you are able to play Guitar Hero with a famous band. The next event will take place on Thursday, May 14, with The Silversun Pickups.
It is pretty easy to play, but you have to be an Xbox Live Gold Member. If you aren’t, don’t worry, you have enough time to upgrade your subscription. Then you need to send a friend request to the Gamertag “Silversun GWF”. You need to download the track pack for the Silversun Pickups. The game begins at 10:00 EST, but you should sign on 30 minutes before the game starts.
