No stranger to litigious slapfights—see this and that—Axl Rose is kicking off the Thanksgiving holiday by suing the sweet stuffing out of Activision for a cool $20 million. Why? Because Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock features both GNR’s classic “Welcome to the Jungle” side by side with several tracks by former GNR guitarist Slash’s band, Velvet Revolver.

Today is the big day when West Hollywood will shut down parts of Sunset Boulevard for their beloved Sunset Strip Music Festival and you shouldn’t even have had to ask if we are going to be there to cover it. Even though we just wrapped up Sunset Junction last weekend, we’re ready to take on some more local acts as well as bigger names.
A host of artists have been added to the bill for this year’s Download Festival, which is set for June 11-13 at Donington Park in Leicestershire, U.K. Among the updated list of acts are Slash (performing for the first time at Donington as a solo artist), The Used, Senser and Enuff Z’Nuff – yeah! “Fly high Michelle,” anyone?
The additional 30 join AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine, Aerosmith and Motorhead, among many others, for the 3-day festival of rock! Check below for the full list of additions to the Download Festival line-up!
Slash has finally released his own album after playing on a massive amount of other people’s releases. However, just because he finally put something out on his own doesn’t mean he’s alone. We knew Slash was working on a ton of collaborations for his self-titled album (since Jack White said no), but we didn’t really understand his reasoning behind doing a “solo” album with “collaborations.”

Last night was the big night for the music industry. The 52nd Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles’ Staples Center and everyone from Justin Beiber to Jeff Beck showed up for the special event. Also, like usual, they managed to cram in 16 performances into a three hour show.
Although, we have to admit, with the exception of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, The 3-D Michael Jackson tribute, and Mary J. Blige/Andrea Bocelli duet, the show didn’t live up to the hype last night. Whether you tuned in or missed out last night, we’ve got all the performances for you to watch below!

Slash, best known for his lead-guitar work in Guns N’ Roses, is putting out a new album which includes a ton of collaborations. He’s asked musicians such Flea, Dave Grohl, and Alice Cooper – all whom have said yes to teaming up.
Former Guns N’ Roses axeman Slash is going to record a cover of Led Zeppelin’s song Kashmir with electronic string quartet Escala. The artists are set to record in Los Angeles later this week, after being brought together by Escala’s manager Simon Cowell.
Escala rose to fame when they reached the final of the second series of the show “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2008. The Sun reports that:
“He was looking for someone unexpected to work with the girls and asked if he’d be interested. [Slash] really liked the idea and jumped at the chance.”
