Thrash metal fans, rejoice! (There’s gotta be a few still headbanging around.) After the Big Four of thrash–Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth–rocked Europe last year, concert promoters must have realized that there’s still an audience for that brand of music. Thus the show will be brought to Indio California and will be held the Saturday after Coachella, which also takes place there, according to the L.A. Times.

The rumor in regards to four of the biggest heavy metal bands coming together in one tour actually became a reality this month! Unfortunately, all you metal-heads in the States are seriously missing out since all the dates for this massive tour are happening overseas in Europe.
However, they’ve found a way to remedy to heal your broken black hearts! Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath and Anthrax will be broadcasting their tour date in Sofia, Bulgaria on June 22 to movie theaters all over the globe! Is there one near you? Find out after the jump!

Frontman Tom Araya’s head-banging days have caught up with him and his band: According to Spin Magazine Slayer is being forced to cancel their U.S. and European Carnage tour due to Araya’s endless back problems. Recently the band was forced to postpone a number of Canadian tour dates due to the same problem, and now that Araya is headed for surgery, the an entire tour has been canceled.

Singstar Queen to be released in March, GDC Awards go to music video game designers, and the Slayer track on Guitar Hero: Metallica looks pretty complex. All in today’s round up:
- Queen fans can rejoice! Out in March, Sony’s SingStar Queen will feature 25 tracks on the Playstation 3, including Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody and I Want to Break Free. Given Queen’s wide range of style and eccentric fanbase, it’s a difficult task reducing the band’s catalogue to 25. Check out the full track list, have they done a good job? [Kotaku]
- The Game Developers Choice Awards at the San Francisco’s Moscone Center March 25th will be honoring Harmonix Co-Founders Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy, co-developers of a groundbreaking decade-plus long line of music games including Guitar Hero and culminating in the Rock Band franchise, with the Pioneer Award for their work; and Tommy Tallarico, co-founder of the Video Games Live concert series and founder of the Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.), with the Ambassador Award for helping to advance the game audio community.
