of Montreal has gone through many new phases since their formation in 1996. Their outlandish sets with characters to bring shock factor during their live performances have become a major of Montreal characteristic within the last few years. The more shocking something is on stage while they sing their hearts out, the crazier the crowd gets.
Last night, the band’s show at Manhattan’s Highline Ballroom was no exception. In fact, it was probably one the greatest live sets thanks to Susan Sarandon and Solange who joined them on stage last night. We’ve got videos for you below!

Beyonce, the most recent queen of pop – who has nabbed “Woman of the Year” title from Billboard and the subject of Kanye West’s humiliating rant at the MTV Video music awards – may be going out further into the vast ocean of music than we thought she could. She has recently perked the ears of many music critics out there when she recently told The Guardian that she could possibly work with indie pop group, of Montreal.

When everyone first heard Dirty Projectors‘ “Stillness Is the Move,” there were very mixed reactions to it. Some said that it was completely wild and refreshing for the Brooklyn group to dip into an R&B melody. Others were horrified that the band chose to release a song that echoed anything mainstream.
Either way, the song reached #1 in Brooklyn. Leading man, Dave Longstreth, who is known for mostly orchestrating very distinctive experimental sounds was very optimistic about the song as well but like most indie songs, it didn’t cross genre lines and into the mainstream realm as quickly as it could have.
