Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse‘s collaboration with David Lynch, Dark Night Of The Soul, finally got a date for its physical release. After a long battle between Danger Mouse and EMI, the two have talked things over and fortunately decided it deserved a proper package. Most music fiends have already gotten the album that was intentionally released along with a digital booklet, but now there may be new cover art as well as other new visuals from Lynch.

Talented singer-songwriter Mark Linkous, who recorded under the name Sparklehorse, committed suicide Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn., according to a report from Rolling Stone.
He was 47.

The Dark Night Of The Soul project from Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse and David Lynch is quite possibly one of the coolest musical collaborations to come down the creative pike in some time, but the album has been shelved because of an ongoing battle with Danger Mouse’s label EMI.
According to reports, EMI Music blocked the release of the album, due out in July, over a contractual dispute.
