Sublime did something far more impressive than we ever give them credit for. Although they had released two albums prior to their self-titled third LP, lead singer and guitarist Bradley Lowell died before that album was released, and any success the band experienced should have been short-lived–especially since they officially broke up in the wake of his passing.
However, the group’s laid-back tunes earned them a massive following, and surviving members Bud Gaug and Eric Wilson recently recruited Rome Ramirez to form Sublime With Rome. According to Rolling Stone, the group will be releasing an album this summer, their first since Nowell’s death.

Sorry, Sublime fans. Sublime is no longer Sublime.
When former frontman, Bradley Nowell, died of an overdose back in 1996, the remaining two members, Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh eventually moved on and performed under the name, Long Beach Dub Allstars. However, since they recruited new vocalist and frontman, Rome Ramiriz, they have begun to perform under the moniker, Sublime, once again.
This didn’t go over too well with Nowell’s family, and after expressing their opinions – the law has sided with the family and not the two original members.

The return of the 90s bands will be a never ending cycle and we’ve got one more band to join the likes of Sugar Ray and No Doubt: Sublime is back!
After their former lead singer, Bradley Nowell, died of an overdose 13 years ago, the remaining members decided to have the show go on with a new singer. Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson have recruited Rome, a Northern Californian to hit the road with them as their new vocalist. There has been word that Rome sounds great live and fits right into Sublime’s groove from way back when even though he is just 20 years old.

Attention Sublime fans, your wildest dreams are about to come true! Well, almost…
There’s no talk of a new album or an official tour, but sources indicate that surviving members Eric Wilson (bass) and Bud Gaugh (drums) are practicing with a so-far-unnamed singer/guitarist. Word is that the ‘new’ Sublime will perform for the first time in 13 years at East Rutherford, NJ’s The Bamboozle in May alongside NOFX.
