Aquarium Drunkard‘s annual WAVED OUT event returned to The Echo and The Echoplex this past weekend and with a killer lineup, BeatCrave made sure to get over there and soak in all the musical talent both stages would be overflowing with. Of course, we weren’t the only ones there; both venues continued to pack in more music fiends like us late into the night. For a measly $12, concert goers were pampered with free ice cream, food trucks, free t-shirts, bingo, and sixteen bands! If you missed out, no worries! We have a re-cap and a TON of photos to share with you after the jump!

Surfer Blood — their name might rub off as either preppy or gory, but these Florida-natives make music in neither one of those categories. Instead, their music is peaceful, happy and easy to listen to. Surfer Blood gained the attention of every music blogger with their lead single Swim, a fist-pumping song that mixes cymbals and choruses very well. Now the West Palm Beach boys are touring the U.S. with not only a hit single, but an album. Surfer Blood released their debut album Astro Coast via Kanine Records, last month. This quartet is busy, busy to the point that they are playing up to two shows a day (in some cities).

Surfer Blood get a little mean and out of control (in the funnest way possible) in their official video for their single “Swim.” The track which is off of their debut album, Astro Coast, via Kanine Records is one of the more authentic “surf rock” tunes recently released today. Hailing from West Palm Beach, Florida these baby-faced boys have gotten our attention with songs such as “Floating Vibes” and the one in the video below.
Check the video out below to see and hear why they’ve made our Bands To Look Out For In 2010 list!

West Palm Beach, Florida-based band, Surfer Blood, is on the rise we want to go along on the ride. Their tunes are may fit right into the bright happy lo-fi garage trend, yet come off as the least pretentious group of musicians. They offer enough warm distortion to make you feel all fuzzy inside with your friends, and their vocal harmonies of effortlessly honest hooks say “Be friends with us, too.”
However, the guys at Casual Fridays were lucky enough to strip these guys down even more by receiving a rare acoustic performance. Watch Surfer Blood perform “Swim (To Reach The End)” below!
