Even when it seems as though half of the music you hear these days has been processed and auto-tuned to death, the fact is that there are still plenty of artists out there with raw talent, and the best way to recognize this is to catch their live shows. 2010 was a great year for concert-goers of all tastes. Whether you like country-pop, rap, indie rock, and whether you prefer festivals, concert series or solo tours, there was something for everyone this year.
Here’s a few of our favorites…

For most of us, Thanksgiving entertainment comes in the form of football games and drunk relatives, but if neither of those choices are your thing, a couple of the country’s hottest pop stars will be providing less violent alternatives.
Vibe is reporting that Beyonce Knowles and Taylor Swift will each be broadcasting concerts on November 25. Beyonce’s, part of her recent world tour, will air on ABC and feature songs from throughout her career. The show begins at 9:30 PM EST.

Connecting with a young audience has always played a key role in Taylor Swift’s rise to success. Yesterday we told you that her latest album, Speak Now, sold more than one million copies in a week. Swift acknowledged her fans via Twitter: “I… Can’t… Believe… This… You guys have absolutely lit up my world. Thank you.”

Taylor Swift fans must be the most loyal fans ever. That or the on-going battle with herself in regards to forgiving Kanye West, Joe Jonas, or John Mayer has sparked people’s interest enough to check her new album, Speak Now, out. Now, you already know what our stance is on the country pop singer-songwriter. We understand that there are artists like her who are taking every single feeling out of the diary and pairing it with a cute melody 14 year olds can identify with. Although we can’t say we’re the biggest fans of Ms. I’m-so-innocent-Swift, at least she’s writing her own songs. We can’t really say that for pop divas such as Britney Spears and Rihanna.
However, what we can make note of is how big of a deal her sales are this week. It’s up to you to decide whether her album is worth purchasing or even listening to, but selling a million copies since the release on October 25th is something to think about.

At first glance, the new album releases this week seemed a bit dreary and dry, but attention to detail is rewarding and some of the most interesting musical discoveries were made while picking out the featured artists for album of the week. It’s no shocker Good Charlotte has landed among the bottom ranking, while R&B princess Ciara reigns this week’s list. Check out what critics think of this week’s batch of new releases: Continue Reading

We get where Taylor Swift is coming from. She’s young, she’s got emotions and the only way to help her heal is by writing songs. That diary of her has been bursting with the angst that simply needs to be expressed in an easy going pop country melody – or two albums worth. Forgive us if we thought the young singer-songwriter lived in a fairytale (it’s only been her motif since she was 16), but apparently she’s not done pointing fingers. All the Taylor/Miley/Selena super-fans (aka all you tweens) better start gossiping because she left Joe Jonas off easy compared to what she’s done to John Mayer on her new album, Speak Now.

After scoring a victory in a legal battle against merchants bootlegging her name and image earlier this week, it appears that Taylor Swift is in the center of yet another legal battle, when everyone knows she should be left alone to write saccharine and horrid forgiveness songs dedicated to Kanye West.

So it looks like I’ve got to pack up my truck from the corner of Hollywood and Highland with all the screen-printed “Biebtastic!” and “Leave it to Bieber!” t-shirts I’ve been hustling for extra scratch this month—AP reports that Taylor Swift has scored a court victory against “individuals she claimed violated trademark by selling counterfeit merchandise bearing her name and picture”:
