Religion has had a steady influence over music ever since the art form was created. According to Yahoo, hip hop artists The Black Eyes Peas, recently went up against the Malaysian government to allow Muslim fans to attend one of their upcoming concerts. It sounds a bit extreme but the conflict stemmed from the fact that one of the major promoters of the event is an alcoholic beverage company.

The Black Eyed Peas have come back in a big way. For the second week in a row, they have held on to their claim of the two top spots on the Billboard Hot 100. Their two songs “I Gotta Feeling” and “Boom Boom Pow” took the first and second spots, respectively. That is pretty good considering how long it has been since they released a new album; their most recent album is titled, The E.N.D.
