Celebrating rock bands this week, we have new albums from Orange County’s own Project 86, heavy metal rockers Clutch, L.A. group Miss Derringer, among others. American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry has an album, Leave This Town, with his rock band Daughtry this week. Their track “No Surprise” is already a hit with audiences. The album has a pop-rock sound. Here are the albums coming out July 14th:

The White Stripes’ Jack White has formed a new band with The Kills’ Alison Mosshart called The Dead Weather.

The band also counts with Jack Lawrence of The Raconteurs and Dean Fertita of Queens Of The Stone Age. The group will release their debut album, ‘Horehound’, in June on White’s label Third Man Records.

White keeps a tremendous pace as he maintains his three bands simultaneously. And although fans might clamor for a new White Stripes album, the new project produced by White results in a superb collaboration between the various members of the band.
