Critically acclaimed San Franciscan band, The Dodos, were waiting just on the other side at the PlayStation for those of us who finished listening to The Antlers. Going from one trio to the other, there was still an excitement as both bands were quite different from one another. Just like the previous band from Brooklyn has taken one subject matter and turned it around to become something unexpectedly fantastic, The Dodos have been switching up the norms on the west coast as well. This was all displayed in their amazing Lollapalooza set on Sunday.

The beautifully shot, guerrilla-style band performances from La Blogotheque known as “Take-Away Shows” will make the leap from the web to television in December. The show will premiere on Current TV on December 9. Check your local listings for the time.

“Take-Away Shows” feature bands typically performing songs busking-style in assorted places. They’ve shot performances in a freight elevator, a candy shop and inside an old water tower among other absurd places. Most of the performances are shot in France where the site is based.

The first televised episode will feature Fleet Foxes and Emily Jane White. The second week will feature The Dodos and Grand Archives. Check out a preview of the Fleet Foxes appearance after the break.
