Are super groups to music as 3-D effects are to movies? Is this just a fad that’s come back around only to go out of style or take a hiatus? We can’t say anything definite about that but we do know that both super groups and 3-D effects enhance our memories of hearing and seeing. It’ a question to think about since such a large (and random) amount of musicians have come together in form of a new band.

At this rate, there might be as many super group bands as there are movies released in 3-D! Okay, maybe that’s a bit presumptuous but can you blame us when we’ve got Mt. Desolation to add to the bunch?

thekillerskj09 11 05 The Killers Talk Concerts and Their Fear of Flying

Over the years, The Killers have morphed from a typical 80′s-inspired band to feather-and-gold-adorned rockers playing in 138-year-old venues, like London’s Royal Albert Hall. Somewhere along the line, the band started growing into their own skin and learned a few things along the way, like figuring out that emulating your rock idol doesn’t automatically translate into a fantastic concert. In a recent interview, Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci, talked about their concert experiences and when their shows started changing for the better.

Death Cab For Cutie Does First Single For New Moon Soundtrack New Moon Soundtracks Complete Track Listing Announced!

The New Moon soundtrack has been announced, and it couldn’t be any more different from the first one! We knew it was going to have an indie sound, but this is just ridiculous! Ridiculous in a good way, anyway.

We had known about Thom Yorke, Bon Iver, Band of Skulls, and Death Cab For Cutie but who knew the Bon Iver track was going to be a duet with St. Vincent! Others that were recently suspected and now confirmed are The Killers, Grizzly Bear, and Stephanie Meyer’s muse, Muse.

Although one part of us is surprised that indie darlings, Anya Marina and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, are also in the mix, another part says this makes sense. A few of these artists are somehow associated with Alexandra Patsavas’ label, Chop Shop, or her close friends, Nettwerk Music Group. Check out the full track list below and tell us what you think!

Lollapalooza: The Killers Review and Set List

thekillers09 8 10 Lollapalooza: The Killers Review and Set List

The Killers brought Vegas to the masses last night as they closed out the 13th Lollapalooza festival under Chicago’s skyline. Fake palm trees, neon lights, and flashy visuals turned the Chicago 2016 into Sin City for just under an hour and a half as Brandon Flowers belted out hits like “Human”, “Spaceman”, and the obvious “Mr. Brightside”. With a heat index over 100-degrees and hard packed dirt on the fields of Grant Park, the charade was almost convincing. Flowers conducted the synth-pop pageant in his feather shouldered suit and a newfound confidence in his performance.

Check out more about the show and the set list below…

thekillers YouTube and Universal Set to Strike Video Deal

Universal Music Group and YouTube/Google are a few weeks away from an agreement over the label’s video rights. YouTube will be responsible for creating a new site, Vevo.com, which would distribute Universal’s video content, and step up advertising revenue with new strategies.

Sony renewed their contract in February, and now Universal, home of U2 and the Killers, will also end their war with YouTube. The soon to be launched Vevo is supposed to generate enough cash to pay for the licensing bill.

Fans Aren’t Happy With Coachella

 Fans Arent Happy With Coachella

So it looks like fans aren’t too happy with Coachella this year. They are specifically pissed about The Killers being Saturday night’s headliner. In this case, complaints have basically been saying that Saturday should have a bigger band. Oh Coachella, what to do? You can see everyone’s peeved thoughts on the Coachella message boards.

When they first announced their line-up, they got mixed reactions and a lot of them were bad. Maybe they should have gotten David Bowie after all.

Are you content with Saturday’s headliner? If not, who would you suggest?
