Together, the forthcoming album from The New Pornographers, is due for release May 4 via Matador Records – so what better time for actor Adam Goldberg to have a nice chat with the band. Described rather humorously by the Matador Blog as a “more successful version of Chat Roulette (albeit fully clothed),” the interview features Goldberg taking us behind the scenes of the recording of Together, talking with band members and even a few album guests like Will Sheff and Neal Sugarman.

 The New Pornographers: BeatCrave Fav

What do you get when you mix the strange effervescence of Neko Case, the ridiculously cunning razzmatazz and creativity of six uber talented people and a band name with irony oozing from every vowel?  Um, duh, you get The New Pornographers: a super-indie-pop group that occasionally echoes the noise and vibe of Cheap Trick, Brian Wilson and Television but consistently delivers on a sound irrefutably  their own.

If you’ve been living under a rock without a TV than you may not have heard the fantastic music this band creates.  Otherwise, you’re probably quite familiar with their genius and are wondering what took us so long to induct them into the BeatCrave Fav series.  Well, question us know more, all is right with the world and The New Pornographers are officially a BeatCrave Fav.  Enjoy!

If you haven’t snagged your ticket for San Francisco’s 17th Annual Noise Pop Festival Feb. 24 – March 1, do so before January 12th, or you are going to regret it. If you wait too much longer, you’ll miss the early bird price of $150 which is a fantastic deal. You know that you’ll end up going, your inevitable growing desire to attend possibly one of the greatest (legal) music and arts festivals of recent times will win over. So get a good deal while you still can!

Long story short: This kind of festival separates the true music fans from the apathetic posers. If you really love music, find a way, any way (within modest boundaries) to get there. It’s gonna be awesome. Although the full line up has not been announced, here are my top five picks to look out for: Continue Reading
