The Runaways is the music-fueled, coming of age story about a groundbreaking, all-girl 1970′s rock band. Written and directed by Floria Sigismondi, the film stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning (yes, little Miss Fanning is all grown up) as Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, respectively. The movie is based on the true story of the bad-ass rock chicks that made up the 1970s band.

Although only 45 seconds long, the teaser trailer for the upcoming film based on all-girl rock band, The Runaways may entice a broad audience. Simply titled with the band’s name, the film starring Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie will bring in a young crowd who also admired the two actresses in Twilight‘s second installment, New Moon. Other actresses who round out the legendary band include Scout Taylor-Comption as Lita Ford and Stella Maeve as Sandy West.
Although you may think these girls look too young to play rock star legends, keep in mind the real band members were only teenagers when all this chaos happened alongside fame. Check the trailer out below and let us know what you think!
