With a nod to the S’s this week, BeatCrave is pleased to spotlight Sea Wolf, Sigur Rós and The Streets, a trio of excellent musical artists who are preparing new albums for our listening pleasure.
We begin with the indie/alternative pop goodness of Sea Wolf, where it’s been announced that Alex Brown Church’s as-yet-untitled sophomore album will be released in September on Dangerbird Records. While his well-received debut record, Leaves in the River, was a mostly solo affair, Church is looking to incorporate a full band style into the recording process. Church is presently in Omaha, NE working on the album with producer, and Bright Eyes member, Mike Mogis. “You’re A Wolf” was the breakout hit from the 2007 debut album.

On Tuesday, 30-year-old UK grime rapper/singer Mike Skinner (of The Streets) learned the perils of acting younger than his body could handle.
Skinner wrote on his MySpace that he had sustained serious injuries while crowdsurfing at a Cambridge performance with his group The Streets. Here’s how he described the incident:
“Tonight someone held onto my belt so hard that my hernia scar from many years ago opened up to a bright red colour,” Skinner wrote. “Looks like a wee organ might pop out of its purpley red bloody gash.”
