Well, if nothing else, the guy is getting a crash course in the definition of irony—turns out that the forthcoming VH1 reality show about rapper T.I.’s life as he readjusts to the world after completing his jail sentence… has landed the rapper back in jail.

On September 1, 2010, rapper T.I. violated his parole when he and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were busted for drug possession in Los Angeles. However, the Los Angeles DA office decided that they won’t file charges related to that drug arrest. In other words, they’re going easy on T.I.

Rapper T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were busted and booked last night in Los Angeles and hit with a mysterious felony drug charge (‘mysterious’ because police won’t name the drug involved). While initial reports state that cops originally approached the couple after smelling marijuana wafting from their car, celebrity gossip website and last bastion of serious journalism, TMZ, indicates the drug was something far more goddamn ridiculous insidious:

Last night’s BET Awards was filled with a ton of comeback performances which always make for a more exciting award show, even if the host is the lovely Queen Latifah. We must say even with all the unnecessary hoopla that was surrounding Justin Beiber this season, they booked some pretty great artists to show us what they got right now.
Kanye West triumphantly opened the show up with his new track, “Power,” which had him standing on top of a ridiculously tall mountain in the beginning. He’s always overcompensating for something but hey, at least, he didn’t grab any mics from teenagers onstage this time. (Although… it would have been fun to watch him make Justin Beiber and all his Beliebers cry.)

T.I.’s prison time hasn’t been a secret. The rapper illegally purchased firearms and deemed himself a convicted felon. It didn’t stop him from winning all those awards such as BET, but it’s still pretty sad to go to the slammer when you’re at the peak of your career.
The rapper was sentenced to prison time until March, but the Associated Press has recently reported that T.I. has been released from the Atlanta prison and will be heading to a halfway house for the next three months until he is fully free.

Last night, The Grammys did what they do best: Cram 24 performances into one night between all the awards. Award highlights go out to Coldplay for best rock album (no surprise there), Robert Plant and Alison Krauss for record of the year, and Lil Wayne taking the grammy for best rap album.
The performances ranged from painful (Kid Rock) to ridiculous (Katy Perry). Yet, there was a glimpse of actual entertainment when M.I.A. came out with the “Rap Pack” (Kanye, T.I., Jay-Z, Lil Wayne) in an outfit that not only accentuated her nine months pregnant belly, but also saved whoever’s ass came up with the “Rap Pack” idea. However, the bonus performance for everyone was Radiohead’s spectacular show of “15 Step” complete with the USC marching band fully backing Yorke.
Check out the performances from Radiohead, Kanye, Coldplay, and more after the jump!
