Finally, I don’t have to imagine what its like to be a sardine anymore. It’s nice to see that festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza have such a healthy contempt for their concert goers that they shove as many people as possible into one small space. Maybe next year they can hold Sasquatch on the front yard of some guy’s house in Washington. That would be sweet.
Anywhoo, getting off my soap box, here are this week’s ticket on sales…

This was a damn good week for music. Not only did bands such as Green Day and Stars announce headlining dates, but Lilith Fair announced more solid lineups (here) and the Arcade Fire announced a handful of summer festival dates (here). Plus, Gogol Bordello, The Gaslight Anthem, The Dead Weather and David Cross announced new records. Apparently Passover is the holiday that just keeps on giving.
Here are a handful of concerts to spend your cash on this weekend:

Maybe it’s just the Theraflu talking, but these last couple of weeks have been killer on-sale weeks for the concert industry. The spring and early summer are already filled with enough tours and festivals to test the endurance of any cash strapped concert goer. This week will continue to test your true definition of “cutting back” as there is something for just about anyone, may they be hipster metal guy, hipster indie guy, hipster festival guy or non-hipster screaming Twilight fan.
We are off…

With it being Super Bowl weekend and all, concert tickets might not be at the forefront of your mind. With the the four hours of football, five hours of pregame and ten hours of prepping your body for the onslaught of alcohol and sodium that it will be ingesting, who has time for ticket buying, right?
Well, you might want to make some time as this is by far the strongest concert on sale weekend of the New Year. So while your prepping your buffalo wings on Saturday for the big game on Sunday, why not you spend a few hard earned dollars on the concerts below. That way, when your finished watching the Saints beat the Colts 34-28 on Sunday evening (that’s right, take the over on points) you have something to look forward to this spring while you contemplate just what went wrong with your fantasy team this season.
Here we go:

Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas… [insert Tiger Woods joke here].
This should probably be the last fairly active ticket on-sale weekend of the year as the holidays will bring announcements to a stand-still. Do not fret though, because early 2010 should yield many of the big concert announcements of the first half next year. And looking at what has already been announced and what is rumored it should be a doozy of a year.
Here are this weeks on-sales:

I’m trying out a new, more user friendly format for the concert on sales. I find it a little less cluttered and more to the point. Please comment me back and let me know what you think. By the way, if this week mixed with the initial Lilith Fair lineup as well as the soon to be announced Alkaline Trio/Cursive tour is any indication, this is going to be one amazing year for live music.

Grammy nominations came out this week and I have one word to sum them up: boring. The Lady Gaga/ Beyonce/ Taylor Swift trifecta in the main categories was expected, but what’s up with The Black Eyed Peas getting tons of love while rock and indie-bands with solid records got overlooked (and for the record, The Dave Matthews Band doesn’t count)?
Sure, the Peas write catchy, though repetitive songs, but Album of the Year/ Record of the Year/ Song of the Year? WTF? The E.N.D was on most critics “worst of the year” list. Do they have compromising pictures of the voters or something?
Find out what went right with the Grammy nods, along with this week’s ticket sales…
