Guitarist Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine has a new band, called Street Sweeper, with Boots Riley from political hip hop group The Coup. The band’s debut album is recorded, and the single Fight! Smash! Win! can be heard at streetsweepermusic.com. The music is very much in the style of Tom Morello’s usual, he describes the sound as “huge steamroller riffs combined with depth, charge, funk.”
There’s a political message in Street Sweeper’s lyrics, highlighting problems that the economic recession poses to the world. Boots Riley explains:
