It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and in celebration, we bring you proof that yes, Jimmy Fallon does indeed have some comedic talented. Today’s video features the “SNL” alum doing a spot-on impression of beloved Irish songwriter Van Morrison.
Of course he’s chugging pints of Guinness. Would it be a true St. Patrick’s Day celebration without it?
Over four decades ago, Van Morrison released “Astral Weeks” to almost none of the pomp and fanfare such a unique and spectacular album deserved. Those who were smart enough to listen to his musical epic came to realize the brilliance of the album and considered it one of the best albums in the rock genre. Since that time, “Astral Weeks” has graced many print and on-line “Top Ten Best” lists and is consistently mentioned as one of the best albums of the 20th century.
Forty years later, the iconic album came to life at the historical Hollywood Bowl this past November and true magic was created yet again but this time to an audience of thousands. Those who were not fortunate enough to be one of those thousands can experience the magic with the release of a double CD/vinyl on Van Morrison’s new label, Listen to the Lion. In addition, Van Morrison will recreate this live experience for some lucky Londoners this April.
Van Morrison of the “Brown Eyed Girl” fame will be releasing the live recording of Astral Weeks through EMI.
Astral Weeks is the first-ever and career defining performance of the album. The original album was released on Warner Bros Records in 1968 but the live album will have a February 10 release through the soul singer’s EMI-distributed Listen To The Lion Label.
