Gorillaz are currently over on the east coast playing a couple of massive shows this weekend but last night they had offered a pretty spectacular opportunity for those who attended Late Show with Letterman. After their late night TV appearance, the band actually stayed at the Ed Sullivan Theater to put on a 45-minute show.
That audience couldn’t have picked a better episode to be at for a live taping. Not only is the entire performance available to watch via CBS but De La Soul came out during this set of theirs! De La Soul and Gorillaz live when you only paid to see one Letterman episode live? That’s a bonus, If I say so myself. However, those of us who weren’t even there are the lucky ones. The show is available in the video below. Thank God for technology. Stream away!

Lissie was one of our BeatCrave Favs for a really good reason. Besides the obvious fact that she has an amazing voice that reaches into the depths of your soul, Lissie is one hell of a musician. If there is a year for indie folk musicians to take over our iPods, it’ll be this one right now thanks to Lissie and her covers.
We’ve already brought you her cover of Lady Gaga‘s “Bad Romance,” and now we have a live cover of Metallica‘s “Nothing Else Matters.” Yes, it’s quite the dramatic jump between the two genres but this is just credibility shown in the most flattering spotlight. Although Lissie may look like a frail damsel, don’t be fooled. Her voice has enough grit and power to take on big names such as Metallica. Check it out below!

Monsters of Folk is back with another video and we’re glad to know that this supergroup is not only still together but still making great music out there for all the fans of Conor Oberst, M. Ward, Jim James and Mike Mogis. If Them Crooked Vultures is one of the best rock supergroups out there right now, Monsters of Folk is completely parallel to them in folk rock.
Even with all their bands they’ve got going on such as She & Him, My Morning Jacket, and Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band, we’re glad they got together again long enough to produce this video for their track, “Dear God.” If the song title doesn’t imply some sort of heavy contemplation already, then it’ll definitely occur after you watch this video.

Brooklynites, Yeasayer, are back with a new video for their track, “O.N.E.” off of their latest album, Odd Blood. They’ve snagged the same director used for NSWF-ish and incredibly trippy, “Ambling Alp,” and once again it’s complete eye candy during every second. The previous video may have involved face massaging and body parts but with “O.N.E.’ using a dance club as its setting the visuals are expected to be a bit more dynamic and crazier to match the tone of the song.

If you haven’t swooned for Zooey Deschanel yet during this lifetime, her latest video as part of She & Him (with M. Ward) may just do the trick. Not only is Deschanel a rising actress who has fit any indie film synopsis with her perfect looks and quirky and deadpan humor in the past, but she can sing (as we all know) dance, AND hula hoop! Prepare yourself for some indie cuteness with their new video for “In The Sun” below!

Chillwave artist, Toro Y Moi aka Chazwick Bundick, is back with another video for his track, “Talamak” and it sports the same care-free vibe his last video for “Blessa” did. Last time the warmth was brought by all the party goers in the soft spotlight as he performed at a house but this time the actual warmth is coming from sunlight as it fades in and out of the scenes where Bundick and his friends literally play with a little fire near a pond.
Toro Y Moi shouldn’t be a new name to BeatCrave readers since he was recently one of our BeatCrave Favs and on our Bands To Look Out For In 2010 list. Check the new video out below as well all of his upcoming tour dates!

Joanna Newsom has made a mighty comeback with her triple disc album, Have One On Me, which has already been critically acclaimed by numerous music publications such as both the New York and Los Angeles Times. Although she only peaked at 75, her cult following has bought more than 700,000 copies of her album in the first week of her release making it a big win for her mark as an indie artist. In celebration and in support of the album, the singer-songwriter stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to perform her song, “Soft As Chalk.”

If you’ve never seen Muse live, their new video for “The Resistance” may just the thing to boost your vibes on buying a ticket to their next show. Currently on tour, the band has conveniently made a video highlighting one of their shows as an epic event displaying happenings from anxiously waiting in line to waving iPhones in the air to the jumping crowds. Although we’ve seen Muse clown around for the public when necessary, this video shows them hard at work doing what they do best through their music.
Check Muse’s video for “The Resistance” out below and let us know what you think!
