BeatCrave has covered VV Brown before, but this didn’t stop us from seeing the British indie pop singer for a third time within the same year. Considering the fact we love to go to shows and share how it went own with you guys several times a week, this says a lot about an artist. Plus, she was playing at the famous Troubadour which is honestly a few notches up from Spaceland and Bardot. Not only did that make this night a special occasion in itself but she also had a full band this night.

British recording artist VV Brown has been featured a number of times recently on BeatCrave from concert reviews, to photos of her playing live, and even a giveaway of her latest album on vinyl! It must be that soul in her voice that makes you feel every emotion that she is singing about that keeps us coming back for more!
From the singer/songwriter’s first studio album, Traveling Like the Light, Brown has her single “Crying Blood”. Her debut single has a dark meaning behind it but the melody is refreshing and upbeat. VV Brown made such a fantastic impression on us here at BeatCrave with her Spaceland show on Friday that we chose to go see her the next night at Bardot. Bardot, a Hollywood hot spot just above The Avalon, served as a plush and sophisticated atmosphere. It couldn’t have been more different from Spaceland, the beloved hipster, Monday residency and PBR guzzling venue. However, we expected VV Brown to give a performance with as much power as the night before no matter what venue she was in.

Last Friday, Arjanwrites hosted a “Superfraiche” lineup complete with Scott Simons, Love Grenades, Reni Lane and the lovely Brit, VV Brown. It was definitely a change of atmosphere for those of us who usually attend Spaceland for the local indie rock shows. Going out to “dance music” shows definitely has its benefits though. Unlike the the “indie rock” scene, attendees aren’t afraid to dance. The sound booth isn’t ashamed to be playing a DJ set with songs from Lady Gaga, Annie, Kylie Minogue, and La Roux either.
The host was a great emcee with his bright red jacket and although Simons kicked the event off we were able to catch LA local hottie, Love Grenades along with Reni Lane and VV Brown.
