It’s still a bummer Jack White and Meg White decided to end The White Stripes, but at least we have some music from the vaults to look forward to. The White Stripes are planning to release a recording of their final gig as a live album called Live In Mississippi.
Jack and Meg White’s last gig happened on July 31, 2007 in Southaven, Mississippi. The forthcoming album, coming out via Jack White’s Third Man Records, will arrive on vinyl. No plans for CD or digital download release – yet. See below for the set-list.

Almost a month after the surprising break-up of the White Stripes, Jack White has announced that he will never form another band. From here on out White will keep his musical focus on The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather and whatever solo work he develops.
“I won’t join another band again,” White told Q magazine. “Three’s enough for one lifetime. If I can’t say it in any of these bands, then I’ll say it by myself.”

The Air Force Reserves versus The White Stripes. Who ya got?
In a statement posted on the Third Man Records website, The White Stripes have charged the Air Force Reserves with copyright infringement regarding the song “Fell In Love With A Girl,” which the Stripes, their label and their management claim was used without permission whatsoever for a TV advertisement that aired during the Super Bowl.
