California may be having trouble legalizing pot but perhaps Willie Nelson‘s tour bus should start thinking of going through the same process. Nelson, a singer-songwriter who has always been open about his relationship with marijuana, found himself in jail once again for possession of the drug Friday morning.

Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson are BFFs. This is not really news since most of us know they both share an abundant love for marijuana and have in fact also shared a stage in Europe before – with Snoop smoking several joints on stage, of course. Each artist comes from a very different background and genre but are actually quite close in real life. They first met while they each on their separate tours in Amsterdam as revealed in a conversation Nelson had Sky News:

You can tell we’re inching closer to a long, holiday weekend and p.r. machines are slowing down because news of Willie Nelson getting a haircut becomes just that: news.
Though not exactly a stop the presses item, word of Nelson’s recent haircut is noteworthy in that his headband/waist-deep pigtails have been a longtime signature look for the country music legend. But no more.

Willie Nelson AND Smokey Robinson? ArcticMonkeys AND David Guetta? Is there anyone NOT releasing an album this week? French house DJ, Guetta, recently had a No 1 single with the Kelly Rowland collaboration “When Love Takes Over,” and had another one with “I Gotta Feeling”, co-written with the Black Eyed Peas. The later can be heard on top 40 radio stations about a hundred times a day. Judging from the first two singles off the album, the House DJ’s new album is definitely worth your attention. Pop sensation Colbie Caillet is trying to prove to the world that she is not a one hit (“Bubly”) wonder with her new album while Jewish musician from New York City, Matisyahu, is singing reggae songs about his religious devotion.
Here are the albums coming out August 25th:

Attention festivalphiles of the world: If you don’t have 4th of July Weekend plans yet, reserve a spot on your calendar. Michigan’s Rothbury music festival will return for its 2nd annual event July 2-5 at the Doulbe JJ Ranch and Resort to bring you a genuine slice of jam-band heaven.
With headliners The Dead (playing their only summer date), Bob Dylan and His Band, The String Cheese Incident and Willie Nelson, it’s clear that Rothbury will take the forefront of hippie-rock-revival shows so far this year (sorry Bonnaroo, you got Phish, but Dylan and The Dead just set a new bar). The headliners might appeal primarily to an older crowd, but the fest has much more to offer…
If you’re a little younger and hip with the times, no worries. This year’s lineup features a variety of contemporary genres, from indie groups like Guster and Broken Social Scene to hip-hop and dance acts like Girl Talk and Chromeo. Here’s the full lineup:
