Our time up in San Francisco went by faster than we had hoped! Outside Lands Festival 2010 was literally a nice breath of fresh air compared to festivals like Coachella. It also had that breeze we didn’t get at Lollapalooza the weekend before. Most of all, it had a lot of hippies who just wanted to share the love… man. To see everything from your favorite bands such as Empire of the Sun, Chromeo, My Morning Jacket and more, enjoy our Outside Lands Festival 2010 photo gallery of ALL the photos we took.

We’ve also broken our photos down into each individual day: Saturday and Sunday. However, if you’d like to take a look at all our photos at once, we’ve got every single one of them below for you!

Rock Explosions at KROQ Epicenter 2009

StreetSweeperSCEpicenterWinnieJaing20094 Rock Explosions at KROQ Epicenter 2009

Apparently there was an earthquake this past weekend…

Epicenter? Pomona Fairplex in California. Cause? Tool, Linkin Park, and Alice in Chains, among others. August 22, 2009 marked the “first annual” KROQ Epicenter Festival, fondly referred to as KROQ‘s Inland Invasion in past years.

This year’s stellar lineup consisted of bands both new and old: After Midnight Project, Sonny, Paper Tongues, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Street Sweeper Social Club, Hollywood Undead, Atreyu, Wolfmother, Alice in Chains, Linkin Park, Dead by Sunrise, and Tool. Even as weather reports threatened Thunderstorms, they didn’t stop concert-goers from flocking to the Fairplex to have a good time. The gloomy morning turned into baking temperatures in the mid-afternoon, but 11 solid hours of music made up for the lack of shade.

After the jump,  check out pictures and my experience at Epicenter’09.

Wolfmother: KROQ Epicenter Festival Photos

WolfmotherEpicenterFestWinnieJaing20093 Wolfmother: KROQ Epicenter Festival Photos

Wolfmother‘s set during this weekend’s KROQ Epicenter Festival marked two things: One, the setting of the sun, and two, a HUGE surge in the attendance rate at the festival itself. What once was a sea of emptiness turned into a gathering of thousands of people – to the point where I had to weave in and out of groups in order to get to the photo pit. Nonetheless, Wolfmother’s set blew me out of the water. The mix of guitars, drums, and lead singer Andrew Stockdale’s vocals make this band unique, and judging by the size of the audience, I’m sure they thought so too.

KROQ‘s Annual Inland Invasion has come back bigger and better, and with a new name: Epicenter. In the past, bands like Incubus, The Offspring, Social Distortion, Blink-182, Muse, The Walkmen and Kings of Leon have graced their stages. While rock n’ roll veterans are banding together in supergroups like Chickenfoot to revive classic rock, it’s thrilling to see a few up-and-coming bands joining in the effort.

One such group is Australia’s Wolfmother, who, with a fresh line-up of musicians, have effectively re-emerged today with the release of their first new recording since the release of their debut self-titled album in 2005. The rockers from down under are offering their new song, “Back Round,” for free, starting today, on Wolfmother.com.
